september 11

i always find this day hard.

my thoughts are with a family i grew up with who suffered a terrible loss.

that shock never loses it's edge for me.

in one of my university classes at mcgill in 2007, where i sat with 50 students aged 18 to 20, it was amazing how already, in those six years, the events of september 11th had taken on an unreal, or maybe surreal, place in their memories.
much of what they remember came from the media, movies, made for television specials and the internet. oh, the internet.
they, of course, were kids when the day happened, but it was a very real reminder that it is our responsibility to ensure that everything that was lost that day is not ever forgotten.
