summer afternoon, summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the english language ~ henry james

so, i am a little tired of all of those pessimistic types too ready to write off this summer already.

enough!!

we still have WEEKS left of lazy days.
sunny, warm, school free days.

i can not be the only one dreading the return of schedule, right?

that first week of school is always the toughest for me.

i would be lying if i didn't admit to a teeny tiny part of me being appreciative for the kid free time that school days offer.

( oh! thursday mornings at "the grind" how i have missed your quiet, caffeine filled beauty...)

however, that simply does not make up for the rest of the routine that will be forced upon us again. not one delicious non toddler threatened latte bit.
sigh.

so, stop rushing this summer of 2010.

bring on more parklife,  jumping off the dock, lazy bbq evenings and pitchers of sangria that never taste as good come september...

you tell em, sister! now the question is whether there's enough summer for you to put up with me for a weekend. I'm still itching for it.

I 100% concur. I love the laziness of summer -- I love everything about summer! I'm not looking forward to making lunches again, getting up early, hustling out the door. School can wait...forever!

Ah, me too! I have to keep reminding myself that even though I have to go back to work on Monday (boo!) I will still have three days of every seven to be free, and more than a month before the dreaded return of the manacles of school lunches and homework folders!
